Chocolate orange cake layered with silky, chocolate orange mousse filling and topped with orange-infused chocolate ganache.
Step 1: Put all the cake ingredients in a bowl and mix until combined.
Step 2: Divide batter into two cake pans and bake at 350°F for 35 mins.
Step 3: Heat milk on low heat with orange zest and vanilla until warm. Add to egg yolks and sugar.
Step 4: Heat and whisk constantly until a thick custard is formed.
Step 5: Add chocolate and let the chocolate orange custard cool completely.
Step 6: Beat butter, icing sugar and cocoa, then whisk in the custard.
Step 6: Cut and fill your cake layers and decorate with ganache.
