Chocolate Banana Squares
Rich, thick and chocolatey. These Chocolate Banana squares have the consistency of chocolate cake but a much deeper flavour with the banana and almond making an irresistible treat!

For the Squares

Ground Almonds

White Sugar

Cocoa Powder

Bananas
ripe and mashed

Buttermilk

Dark Chocolate Chunks
For the Glanache Topping

Semi-sweet Chocolate
chunks or chopped

Instructions
Make the Chocolate Banana Squares
Preheat oven to 350°F / 180 °C and line a line a square baking pan
Combine the flour, sugar, ground almonds, cocoa powder, baking powder and cinnamon in a large bowl
In another bowl, mix together the eggs, mashed bananas, buttermilk, melted butter and vanilla
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir until just combined. You can do this by hand or in a stand mixer
Add in the chopped chocolate or chocoalte chunks and mix through
Pour into the baking pan and bake for 25 minutes
Allow to cool completely before decorating or slicing
Make the Ganache
Heat the cream on low in a saucepan until just starting to simmer
Pour over the chocolate and stir until all combined and glossy
Allow to cool before spreading on the squares
