Tiramisu Layer Cake

Layers of fluffy vanilla sponge soaked in fresh espresso and amaretto with lashings of mascarpone cream and a dusting of cocoa powder.

You'll Need: Flour Sugar Butter Milk Eggs Espresso Cocoa Powder Mascarpone Whipping Cream Amaretto

Step 1: Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 2: Add eggs and vanilla and mix in.

Step 3: Mix in half the flour, then the milk, then remaining flour.

Step 4:  Pour into greased cake pans and bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.

Step 5:  Soak the cooled sponge cakes in espresso and amaretto mixture.

Step 6:  Fill layers with mascarpone cream. Dust cake with cocoa powder and pipe more cream on top.
