You'll Need: Flour Sugar Oil Milk Eggs Espresso Cocoa Powder Mascarpone Whipping Cream Amaretto

Step 1: Bake the vanilla sponge cake in two 8-inch cake pans, then slice each cake in half.

Step 2: Whisk egg yolks and sugar over a double boiler until pale and thick.

Step 3: Whisk the mascarpone and amaretto together, then whisk in the egg yolk mixture.

Step 4:  Whip the cream to medium peaks, then fold into the mascarpone mixture.

Step 5:  Place your first cake layer on a cake board and soak with espresso and amaretto.

Step 6:  Spread a generous layer of mascarpone cream onto the cake, then stack the next cake layer on top and repeat.
