Pie Crust

Flaky pie crust made with  all butter.  How to make, line, and bake the perfect pie crust.

You'll Need: Flour Salt Butter Cold Water Vinegar Sugar (optional) Egg wash

Step 1: Mix the dry ingredients in a food processor, then pulse in the butter until it is in small, pea-sized lumps. 

Step 2:  Add the cold water and vinegar a little at a time until the dough holds together when squeezed.

Step 3: Knead until smooth and then shape into a flat disk. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Step 5:  Add pie weights and blind bake for 15-18 minutes.

Step 6:  Apply an egg wash and bake or par-bake according to the recipe you are using.
