You'll Need: Maple Syrup Saucepan Thermometer Wooden spoon Bowl of ice

Step 1: Pour the maple syrup into a saucepan and heat over medium heat.

Step 2: Bring to a boil and heat to 235°F.

Step 3: Pour into a bowl and submerge the bowl in an ice bath.

Step 4:  Let the syrup cool to about 80°F, then begin stirring slowly.

Step 5:  Keep stirring until the syrup thickens and lightens in color (up to 30 minutes).

Step 6:  The maple cream is ready when it goes from shiny to matte - it will look kind of like peanut butter.

Step 7:  Pour into a jar to store or serve right away.
