Perfect Vanilla Custard Cake

Ridiculously soft and fluffy vanilla sponge layered with creamy custard buttercream and a pool of rich custard in the middle!

You'll Need: Eggs Milk Flour Sugar Butter Vanilla Cornstarch

Step 1: Make custard by heating the milk and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat.

Step 2: Slowly add the warmed milk to egg yolks, then add everything back to the pan and boil.

Step 3: Add all dry ingredients to stand mixer.

Step 4:  Add butter to dry ingredients one chunk at a time, mixing in between.

Step 5:  Add the milk and oil and beat for exactly two minutes.

Step 6:  Add the eggs and remaining oil, beat until just combined. Bake at 335°F for 30-40 mins.

Step 7:  Whip half the custard with butter to make custard buttercream.

Step 8  Fill and decorate with remaining custard and pipe buttercream on top.
